I am a scholar of higher education, organizational change, and social movements. My current scholarship focuses on the movement to pass the Reproductive Privacy Act in Rhode Island IN 2019. This research, based on an oral history project developed by coauthor Jordan Banick, will produce a public oral history archive. Preliminary results have been presented at several conferences, with papers focusing on movement strategy and tactics.
My most recent book (written with Roger Clark) is an Open Educational Resources (OER) text for sociological data aalysis courses, Social Data Analysis: Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches.
My prior book, Law and Justice Around the World: A Comparative Approach, was published in February 2020 by the University of California Press. You can view a webinar on Policing in Comparative Perspective, sponsored by the Mount Holyoke College Alumnae Association, that draws on Chapter 5 of the book, at this link.
